Background
American Honda (AHM) is investigating certain 2013-2014 Accords & 2013 Civic Sedans with a customer complaint of
SRS Light ON with the OTC 82-11 (Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor - Front Inner Side), 82-21
(Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor- Rear Inner Side), 83-31 (Internal Failure of the Front
Passenger's Weight Sensor- Front Outer Side) and/or 83-41 (Internal Failure of the Front Passenger's Weight Sensor Rear Outer Side) stored. To fully understand the cause of this condition, AHM would like to collect certain information
from the vehicle in a specific condition prior to you attempting a repair of any kind.
Qualifiers
AHM is interested ONLY if the vehicle meets the following requirements:
1. For 2013-2014 Accord, both 2-door & 4-door, any trims are accepted.
2. For 2013 Civic, 4-door only, any trims are accepted.
3. At least one or more OTCs must be stored: 82-11 , 82-21 , 83-31 and/or 83-41 .
4. Must have trash, debris or other items stored under the front passenger seat or in the foot wells.
Action Required
If you have or know of such a vehicle, please call the Technical Research & Support (TRS) Group at
800-880-1072. TRS will need to record certain vehicle information and provide you with further instructions.
