For additional details, please see the updated iN message below. On December 3, 2014, Acura notified NHTSA of a Stop Sale order and SafetyRecall for approximately 9,500 TLX V6 vehicles. Any new or used vehicles in dealer stock must be inspected/repaired prior to sale. Refer to the eResponsibilityreport or VIN Inquirystatus to determine which vehicles in your inventoryare affected. Problem During manufacturing of the 9-speed automatic transmission, it is possible that contamination may cause the parking pawl not to engage or the park rod may have been damaged during assembly and could dislodge, both of which can prevent the transmission from shifting into the Park position even if the driver has selected the Park position with the gear selector. Although the shift indicator will display “Park”, the Park Lock may not engage allowing the vehicle to roll away, increasing the risk of a crash. Inspection and Repair Procedure Please refer to S/B 14-050,SafetyRecal l :TransmissionDoesNotEngageParkfor the inspection and repair procedure. Repair Instructional Video Instructional videos of important steps are included in the service bulletin. They have been posted on iN for viewing on Monday, February 16, 2015. Note that this may increase the bulletin download time. Tools Tools for the repair have been distributed to all dealers and should have been received by Friday, February 13, 2015. Parts Parts are now available through controlled order. Please be advised that the inspection procedure requires 10 quarts of transmission fluid.
