Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/6 SERVICE PROCEDURE IMPORTANT: Follow all warnings, cautions, and notes in the ESM when working on or near a fuel system and EVAP system components, such as a fuel tank and vent control valve. NOTE: The fuel tank must be no more than ¾ full (the less fuel the better) to prevent spillage before performing the SERVICE PROCEDURE below. 1. NOTE: The foam will fit tightly around the top of the fuel filler pipe and drain box. Slack at the bottom will be removed in the next step. Foam sealed tightly against drain hose fitting Figure 4 End the wrap with the foam tightly sealed against the drain hose fitting. Start applying here, working evenly around to the opposite side 5. Press the foam adhesive evenly onto the fuel filler pipe, pushing the slack around to the opposite side. Figure 5 6.
