SERVICE PROCEDURE
IMPORTANT: Follow all warnings, cautions, and notes in the ESM when working on
or near a fuel system and EVAP system components, such as a fuel tank and vent
control valve.
NOTE: The fuel tank must be no more than ¾ full (the less fuel the better) to prevent
spillage before performing the SERVICE PROCEDURE below.
1. Replace the following parts:

Fuel filler pipe
NOTE: Wrap the new fuel filler pipe with EPT foam before installing (see page 3).

EVAP canister

EVAP canister vent control valve
 Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), sections EC-Engine Control
System and FL-Fuel System (as it applies), for removal and installation
procedure.
NOTE:
o It is recommended to remove the grommet from the fuel filler pipe after
detaching the fuel filler pipe with grommet from the vehicle. This makes
it easier to remove the fuel filler pipe from the vehicle.
o Cover the fuel tank’s rubber filler hose with a clean shop cloth or suitable
covering once the fuel filler pipe has been detached from it.
2. Erase the DTC.
