Classification: Reference: HA16-005 Date: NTB17-032 March 24, 2017 2014-2016 TAXI; A/C SOLENOID VALVE REPLACEMENT APPLIED VEHICLE: 2014-2016 Taxi SERVICE INFORMATION The Air Conditioning (A/C) Solenoid Valve shown in Figure 1 is now available as a separate service part. If replacement is needed, follow the Service Procedure on the next page. NOTE: The A/C Solenoid Valve is located at the passenger side rear engine compartment area next to upper strut mount. A/C Solenoid Valve Figure 1 Nissan Bulletins are intended for use by qualified technicians, not 'do-it-yourselfers'. Qualified technicians are properly trained individuals who have the equipment, tools, safety instruction, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. NOTE: If you believe that a described condition may apply to a particular vehicle, DO NOT assume that it does. See your Nissan dealer to determine if this applies to your vehicle. 1/4 SERVICE PROCEDURE 1. Evacuate the A/C system. Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM), section HA – Heater & Air Conditioning System, for evacuation information. Harness connector 2. Disconnect the A/C Solenoid Valve harness connector. Figure 2 Refrigerant lines 3. Disconnect the two refrigerant lines from the A/C Solenoid Valve. Figure 3 4. Remove the two A/C Solenoid Valve mounting bolts. Mounting bolts 5. Remove the A/C Solenoid Valve. Figure 4 2/4 NTB17-032 6. Remove the old O-rings from the refrigerant lines. 7. Remove any dirt or debris from the refrigerant line O-ring sealing surfaces. O-rings 8. Install new O-rings to the refrigerant lines. Apply “Type S” A/C lubricant to the new O-rings after installation. Figure 5 9. Carefully install the A/C Solenoid Valve onto the refrigerant lines, but do not reattach the nuts yet. Mounting bolts NOTE: Take care to avoid O-ring damage. 10. Install the two mounting bolts that attach the A/C Solenoid Valve to the vehicle. Bolt torque: 5.5 N•m (0.56 kg-m, 49 in-lbs.) Figure 6 11. Reattach the refrigerant line nuts to the A/C Solenoid Valve. Refrigerant lines A/C Solenoid Valve harness Nut torque: 9.8 N•m (1.0 kg-m, 86 in-lbs.). 12. Connect the A/C Solenoid Valve harness. 13. Recharge the A/C system. (1) Reference the Parts Information table and use the A/C Solenoid Valve Part Number as the PFP. (2) Use the Symptom and Diagnostic codes that apply to the customer complaint and technician findings for this repair. 4/4 NTB17-032
