Issue
This document describes the required misalignment of the aftertreatment alignment arrows
only on Pierce™ firetruck applications.
Verification
Alignment arrows on aftertreatment diesel particulate filter (DPF) and aftertreatment
decomposition tube are intentionally misaligned by approximately 10 degrees. See Figure 1
below.

Resolution
CAUTION
If aftertreatment DPF and aftertreatment decomposition tube alignment arrows are in
alignment, differential pressure sensor tube connected to aftertreatment decomposition
tube will not fit properly and can become kinked and/or bent.
• Misalignment of aftertreatment DPF and aftertreatment decomposition tube is required
to allow for adequate aftertreatment system clearance in this application.
• Prior to loosening or removal of aftertreatment v-band clamp, aftertreatment DPF, or
aftertreatment decomposition tube; an orientation reference line must be drawn across
aftertreatment DPF, v-band clamp, and decomposition tube to aid in assembly.
• Use orientation reference lines added prior to loosening or removal to assist in correct
differential pressure sensor tube alignment during assembly.
