Introduction
Some 2010 – 2015 model year Lexus vehicles with the RES+ accessory may exhibit a condition
of not being able to remote start the vehicle through their smart phone application in some areas.
The user will receive a mobile device message “Waiting the answer from VIN”, indicating the
network was unable to connect to their vehicle. The cause of this may be related to the provider’s
3G and 4G wireless infrastructure upgrades, resulting in the elimination of 2G network
capabilities. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to address this condition.

APPLICABLE WARRANTY
This repair is covered under the Lexus Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 48 months
or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.
Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in
this bulletin.

Repair Procedure
1. Confirm vehicle is equipped with RES+.
NOTE
Look for RES+ window stickers on the driver or passenger front window glass.
Look for RES+ key tag on the Smart Key ring.
Is the vehicle equipped with RES+ ?
 YES — Continue to step 2.
 NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable Accessory
Diagnostic Guide on page 4.
