Bulletin No.: PIT4780Q Date: Aug-2014 Subject: Parallel Hybrid Truck (PHT) Part Restriction Models: 2004-2007 Chevrolet Silverado Classic 2004-2007 GMC Sierra Classic All With RPO HP2 This PI was superseded to change to TAC Part Restriction. Please discard PIT4780P. The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI. Condition/Concern The purpose of this Bulletin is to explain the TAC Parts Restriction program for the models listed above. If diagnosis leads to replacement of any of the components listed above, contact GM TAC @ 877-446- 8227 (U.S.) or in Canada 1-800-263-7740 (English) or 1-800-263-7960 (French) to review case details Please have as much stored DTC and snapshot information as possible prior to contacting TAC. Recommendation/Instructions Note: NOTE: When ordering the AGM Hybrid Batteries the Midtronics Battery Tester Failure Codes / Information are needed prior to calling TAC. Failure to test using the proper test adapters and SI procedure may result in inaccurate results or misdiagnosis that would lead to higher than necessary warranty, parts or labor costs. 1. When replacing the Stator, it is recommended to replace the Phase Cable Set at that time. 2. When programming the ESCM / BECM it may be necessary to select the "Tech2 Remote" method in TIS. Note: After reviewing the diagnosis, if component replacement is needed, GM TAC will arrange for ordering of the part(s). When this occurs, record the last 8 of the VIN number to be used by the parts department as the CONTROL NUMBER (in conjunction with the part number) to track shipment of the part. It is not necessary to call TAC for part tracking information. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information. WE SUPPORT VOLUNTARY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION 2
