Bulletin No.: PIT4895G
Date: Aug-2015
Subject:
Express All Windows Down Feature Using Keyless Entry Transmitter (Key Fob)
Models:
2010 - 2016 Cadillac SRX
2010 Chevrolet Equinox (Built prior to June 26, 2009)
This PI was superseded to update Model Years. Please discard PIT4895F.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern
Some models above are equipped with a Remote Express All Windows Down feature. This feature can be used to open all door windows from outside the
vehicle by using the Keyless Entry Transmitter (Key Fob). This feature can help aid in quickly cooling down the vehicle interior in high ambient temperatures
To activate this feature, press and hold the Unlock button on the Key Fob for several seconds until all the windows are commanded open
Note: This feature only opens all windows. There is no feature to close the windows using the Key Fob.
Recommendation/Instructions
SRX Models:
If an SRX customer is requesting this feature to be turned off, the latest BCM calibration can be installed (NON WARRANTY / customer pay) followed by
selecting “Disable” under the Lock heading when SPS programming the BCM.
Note: The Remote Express All Windows Down feature can still be retained if a service BCM is installed.
Equinox Models:
When replacing or reprogramming the BCM on a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox equipped with this feature, the feature will be eliminated. This feature can NOT be
turned back on nor can a vehicle built on or after June 26, 2009 have this feature re-enabled or added.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the
remaining steps do not need to be performed.
GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may
occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools,
safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that
your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
