The TSB illustrates the various causes of condensation inside the headlamp and rear combination lamp assembly. Applicable Vehicles: All General Information: Various causes of headlamp/rear combination lamp condensation. 1) Natural Condensation 2) Condensation from Engine Startup Circulate To: General Manager, Service Manager, Parts Manager, Warranty Manager, Service Advisors, Technicians, Body Shop Manager, Fleet Repair SUBJECT: INFORMATION FOR HEADLAMP AND REAR COMBINATION LAMP CONDENSATION in Other Types of Headlamp Condensation: NOTICE The below notes are for informational purposes only. For further instruction, please refer to the applicable shop manual procedures. 1) Condensation occurring inside the headlamp/rear combination lamp during or after a car wash cycle is considered natural occurrence. This condition occurs when water vapor contained inside the headlamp/rear combination lamp is exposed to sunlight or heat generated by the bulb. Condition may also occur due to temperature variations inside and outside the headlamp lens during a car wash. 2) Condensation inside a lamp can be addressed by dehumidification of the moisture by turning on the lamp for 30 minutes approximately.
