Today, November 11, 2016, American Honda is notifying all dealers that the repair procedure is now available for
Emissions Recall for the 2017 HR-V. Updated Service Bulletin 16-103 Emissions Recall: 2017 HR-V PCM Incorrectly
Adjusts Air to Fuel Ratio has been posted on SIS. The bulletin provides corrective action, repair procedure, software,
and warranty information to support vehicle repairs.
Note: Some vehicles affected by this campaign may be in your new or used vehicle inventory. Failure to inspect and, if
needed repair, a vehicle subject to a recall or campaign may subject your dealership to claims or lawsuits from the
customer or anyone else harmed as a result of such failure. In addition, state law may provide American Honda with the
right to seek indemnification in any such claim or lawsuit.
Basic Problem
There is an internal programming issue with the PCM on certain 2017 HR-V models. Under certain hot restarting and
driving conditions, the air to fuel ratio control may not compensate properly.

No parts are associated with this repair.
Tools/Software Information
Software for updating vehicles will be available for dealer download as of November 11, 2016. Service Bulletin 16-103
has detailed information on update programming codes.
Campaign Information
Service bulletin 16-103 has been revised to include warranty, software, and repair information related to the recall
campaign, and is available on the Service Information System as of November 11, 2016
