Some 2017 my sonata 2.4l (lfa) vehicles may have an improperly positioned oil cooler hose clamp. This may result in a coolant leak. Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to inspect and reposition the oil cooler hose clamp.

Dealers must perform this campaign on all affected vehicles prior to customer retail delivery and
whenever an affected vehicle is in the shop for any maintenance or repair.
When a vehicle arrives at the service department, access Hyundai Motor America's "warranty
vehicle information" screen via WEBDCS to identify open campaigns.
Description: Some 2017MY Sonata 2.4L (LFa) vehicles may have an improperly positioned oil
cooler hose clamp. This may result in a coolant leak. Follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to
inspect and reposition the oil cooler hose clamp.
Applicable Vehicles: Certain 2017MY SONATA (LFa) 2.4L vehicles
Parts Information: No additional parts are required.

2.4L OIL COOLER HOSE CLAMP INSPECTION (SERVICE CAMPAIGN T2H)
Service Procedure:

The vehicle coolant system may be
hot to touch. Allow sufficient time to
cool prior to proceeding.
1.
Loosen the two hose clamps (A at the throttle
body and B at the air cleaner) of the air intake
hose and move the air intake hose to the side.
2.
Inspect the hose clamp position of the lower oil
cooler hose at the Water Temperature Control
(WTC) housing.

The correct position of the clamp should
be approximately 3/8” from the WTC
housing as shown in the dotted boxed
area (C).

If the hose clamp is not in the correct area (C),
then the clamp (D) must be repositioned.

If the hose clamp is not in the correct
position such as the clamp (D) in the example
picture, then reposition the hose clamp within the
correct the location as shown (C).
NOTICE
The lower oil cooler hose and clamp
is located at the bottom of the WTC
housing (just below and behind the
throttle body heater hose).

Complete the repair with the following:
 Reinstall the air intake hose.
 Check the cooling system reservoir tank to make sure that it is at FULL level.
o If necessary, add coolant to adjust the level to FULL.
