Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. There is a
possibility that shouldered bolts that do not meet the required specifications may have been
installed on the convertible top frame on the affected vehicles.
As a result, the shouldered bolt can become loose while driving, resulting in noises from around the
convertible top frame. If the shouldered bolt is lost, the convertible top can malfunction while opening and
closing. The convertible top can then only be closed using the emergency operation mechanism.

Required:
Replace shouldered bolt on convertible top frame.

The VIN(s) can be checked by using PIWIS Vehicle Information link to verify if the campaign affects the
vehicle. This campaign is scope specific to the VIN! Failure to verify in PIWIS may result in an improper
repair. This campaign affects 8 vehicles in North America.

Preliminary work
Procedure:

Move convertible top into position.

Switch on ignition.

Move convertible top to the rear electrically
until the convertible top has reached the
position shown in the illustration  Positioning convertible top.

Cancel the opening process, switch off
ignition and remove ignition key.
Move both front seats all the way forward and fold the
backrest over.

Place a suitable collection mat  Removing sound absorber -2- under the convertible top frame 
Removing sound absorber -arrows- to prevent small parts from falling into the gap when removing
the shouldered bolt.

Remove shouldered bolt on convertible top frame.

Counter the shouldered bolt  Removing

and unscrew and remove the lock nut 

Install new shouldered bolt together with new
fastening parts and small parts from the repair kit,
Porsche Part No. 000.043.302.71.

Insert one of the two Teflon washers 

Procedure:

Perform function test on convertible top. To do this, actuate the switch in the centre console and
open and close the convertible top fully once.

Install side trim panel for rear luggage compartment  Workshop Manual '700319 Removing and

Install trim panel for roll-over bar  Workshop Manual '708119 Removing and installing trim panel

Install trim panel for convertible top compartment at the sides  Workshop Manual '700819
Removing and installing trim panel for convertible top compartment (Targa) - section on "Installing"'.

Remove protective cover from the vehicle.

Move front seats back to their original position.

Enter the workshop campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
Information
The specified working time was determined specifically for carrying out this campaign and may differ
from the working times published in the Labor Operation List in PIWIS.

Warranty claims should be submitted via WWS/PQIS.
Open campaigns may be checked by using either the PIWIS Vehicle Information system or through PQIS
Job Creation.
Labor, parts, and sublet will be automatically inserted when Technician is selected in WWS/PQIS. If
necessary, the required part numbers will need to be manually entered into warranty system by the dealer
administrator.
