Modified assignment of connector contacts due to installation of new type of horn.
As a result, if the horn needs to be replaced, an adapter cable must also be installed.

991.635.159.00 – NEW –  Fanfare, high-pitched (with holder)
991.635.149.01 Old  Fanfare (no longer available)
991.635.160.00 – NEW –  Fanfare, low-pitched (with holder)
991.635.150.01 Old  Fanfare (no longer available)
991.612.947.00 – NEW –  Adapter cable (2 ea. required)

PVC tape (commercially available)

Work Procedure: 1
Remove horn, see  Workshop Manual '905019 Removing and installing horn - section on
"Removing"'.

Connect the connector from the vehicle wiring harness to the connector from the adapter cable until
both connectors lock together with an audible click.

Connect the connector from the adapter cable to the horn until it locks with an audible click, see 
Workshop Manual '905019 Removing and installing horn - section on "Installing"'.

Also install the adapter cable at the second horn as described in Steps 2 to 5.

Wrap PVC tape around both adapter cables and attach them to the cable for the outside temperature
sensor:

Information
The two adapter cables must be routed and secured using PVC tape and tie-wraps in such a way that:
•
they are not under any mechanical strain and
•
they are not touching the fanfares.
End of action required.

For invoicing and documentation using PQIS, specify “90500 - Horn” as the fault location (FES5) and
“1614 – Function not as specified” as the damage category (SA4).
