WE21 - Replacing Front Wheel Housing Liner (front part) (Workshop Campaign)

This revision amends WE21 Parts Information regarding reuse of air guides; and amends/expands
Sections 2.5 and 2.6 in Attachment "A": Work Procedure.
Revision 2: August 12, 2014
This revision amends WE21 by adding VINs for U.S. vehicles in addition to VINs for Canada and Puerto
Rico.

Information:
This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on the above-mentioned vehicles. When
reversing out of the bed of gravel with hot tires during race track driving, small stones that are
sticking to the front tires can become loose.
These stones are flung against the radiators through an opening in the front part of the wheel housing
liners and can damage the radiators.

Required:
Replace front wheel housing liners (front part).

vehicle. This campaign is scope specific to the VIN! Failure to verify in PIWIS may result in an improper
repair. THIS CAMPAIGN AFFECTS 379 VEHICLES IN NORTH AMERICA.

campaign.

Remove air guide on the front part of the old
wheel housing liner at the front left.

Loosen, unscrew and remove
fastening screws  Converting

Tightening torque 3 Nm (2 ftlb.)

Guide new front part of front left wheel housing liner into the wheel housing and place it in
installation position.

Screw in and tighten fastening screws  Front wheel housing liner - front part -2- on the front
part of the wheel housing liner  Front wheel housing liner - front part -1-.
Tightening torque 2.7 Nm (2 ftlb.) +/-0.2 Nm (+/-0.1 ftlb.)

Align the air vane  Air vane -2- in the wheel
housing and secure it with the fastening
screws  Air vane -1-.
Tightening torque 3 Nm (2ftlb.)
Replace front part of front right wheel housing liner.

Turn the front wheels fully to the right.
3.2
Remove front part of right wheel housing liner
and install new front part of wheel housing
liner, Porsche Part No. 991.504.950.00.
To do this, complete Steps 2.2 to 2.7 on the
right side of the vehicle.

Move the front wheels to the straight-ahead position and remove the vehicle from the lifting platform.

Enter the workshop campaign in the Warranty and Maintenance booklet.
Information
The specified working time was determined specifically for carrying out this campaign and may differ
from the working times published in the Labor Operation List in PIWIS.
Attachment "B": Claim Submission - Workshop Campaign WE21
Warranty claims should be submitted via WWS/PQIS.
Open campaigns may be checked by using either the PIWIS Vehicle Information system or through PQIS
Job Creation.
Labor, parts, and sublet will be automatically inserted when Technician is selected in WWS/PQIS. If
necessary, the required part numbers will need to be manually entered into warranty system by the dealer
administrator.
