PURPOSE
A MEDIC update (number M3485) has been posted for the MUT-III and MUT-III SE scan tool that is
designed to improve your technicians’ efficiency and productivity. This update provides enhanced
searching capability by VIN on the Technical Information Retrieval (TIR) page. Be sure to download
this latest update to utilize this new feature.
By clicking one of the new buttons “Read MUT3 VIN Data” or “Read MUT3-SE VIN Data” the TIR will
automatically look up the last VIN that was connected to the scan tool. A new drop-down list is also
available that will store the previous 10 VINs that were connected. As before, a VIN may still be
manually entered in the space next to the “VIN Search” button.

1. On the MUT-III or MUT-III SE, click on the “TIR” tab. Above the existing “VIN Search” field
there are 3 new buttons.
2. Click on either the “Read MUT3 VIN Data” or “Read MUT3-SE VIN Data” button to look up the
last VIN that was connected to the respective scan tool.

3. Clicking on the new drop-down field below the words “Choose or enter 17 Character VIN
below” will reveal the previous 10 VINs that were most recently connected to the scan tool.
The desired VIN may be selected from this list. Continue as before to search for the
applicable technical information.
