POSSIBLE CAUSES
The water pump bearing is out of specification.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace the water pump and, if necessary, the drive belt.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE: This procedure is in an outline form. For more information, see the service information.
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Disconnect the 12-volt battery terminal.
3. Remove the drive belt.
4. Remove the drive belt auto tensioner.
5. Remove the alternator.
6. Remove the water pump.
7. Install the new water pump, and torque the bolts to 12 N·m (9 lb-ft).
8. Install the alternator, and torque the bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb-ft).
9. Install all remaining parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: make sure you bleed the drive belt auto tensioner when you install it.
10. Fill the engine coolant.
