Technical Background
The damaged is caused when the headrest of the rear seat backrest comes
in contact with the back of the front seat.
This occurs when the rear seat is folded down with the headrests installed
(Figure 2), and the front seat is moved back far enough to make contact with
the rear seat headrest (Figure 3).

Explain the following to the customer:
• When the rear seat seatbacks are folded down, the rear seat headrests
must be removed to accommodate the front seats (Figure 4).
• With the rear seat headrests removed, there is adequate clearance to
accommodate the front seats even if they are adjusted as far back as
possible (Figure 5).
• When the rear seats are folded back up and locked, the headrests must
be reinstalled. The procedure for removal and reinstallation of the rear
seat back headrests can be found in the Owner’s Manual.
