IF YOU CONFIRM
A rattle noise from the passenger side rear floor occurs when accelerating and/or decelerating through
2400 rpm.
ACTION
1. Remove the rear seat cushion.
2. Remove the “main fuel level sensor unit, fuel filter and fuel pump assembly“ (fuel pump assembly)
inspection hole cover.
3. Apply a piece of foam from the squeak and rattle kit under the fuel feed tube.
NOTE: Between the fuel feed tube and the fuel tank.

SERVICE PROCEDURE
Fuel pump assembly
inspection hole cover
1. Remove the rear seat cushion.

Refer to the Electronic Service Manual (ESM),
section SE – Seat for removal and installation
information.
2. Remove the four (4) inspection hole cover nuts
shown in Figure 1.

3. Remove the fuel pump assembly inspection hole
cover.

4. Disconnect the harness connector to the fuel
pump assembly.

Part #J-50397-7
Cut three inches
5. From Squeak and Rattle Kit J-50397, remove one
(1) piece of foam, part number J-50397-7 (EPDM
SEMI CLOSED CELL), and cut a three (3) inch
piece from it.

6. Peel the self-adhesive protective sheet from the 3 inch by 2 inch piece of foam cut in step 5.
7. Attach the foam to the fuel tank under the fuel feed tube where shown in Figure 4 and as shown in
Figure 5.

The longer side of the foam should be placed horizontally.

The foam should be placed such that the fuel feed tube cannot touch the tank as shown in Figure 5.

8. Re-assembly the vehicle in the reverse order of disassembly.
