Service Technical Information 86/16 ENU WG45 2 WG45 - Replacing Filter Element for Tank Leakage Diagnosis Module (Workshop Campaign) Vehicle Type: Macan S/Macan Turbo Model Year: As of 2015 up to 2016 Equipment: Tank leakage diagnosis (I-no. 2G4) Subject: Filter element for tank leakage diagnosis module Concern: There is a possibility that particles of dirt can get into the tank leakage diagnosis module and be deposited on the diaphragm seal under certain environmental conditions. This can result in incorrect tank leakage diagnosis in some cases. The Check Engine light will be activated. Remedial Action: • • Replace ventilation line with filter element for tank leakage diagnosis module. Also replace tank leakage diagnosis module. Preparatory work Work Procedure: 1 Raise the vehicle on a lifting platform Workshop Manual '4X00IN Lifting the vehicle'. 2 Remove rear left wheel housing liner Workshop Manual '536919 Removing and installing rear wheel housing liner'. 3 Remove cover for center underbody at the left side Workshop Manual '519319 Removing and installing cover for centre underbody'. Replacing ventilation line with filter element Work Procedure: 1 Remove ventilation line with filter element. 1.1 Loosen and unscrew fastening nut Replacing ventilation line -3- for filter element Replacing ventilation line -2- in the left wheel housing. 1.2 Unclip ventilation line Replacing ventilation line -1- from the line bracket Replacing ventilation line -4- in the wheel housing. 1.3 Release quick connector Replacing ventilation line -5- for ventilation line and pull off ventilation line Replacing ventilation line -1-. 1.4 Remove ventilation line Replacing ventilation line -1- together with the filter element Replacing ventilation line -2- from the wheel housing. 2017© Porsche Cars North America, Inc. AfterSales Replacing ventilation line Feb 9, 2017 Page 3 of 8 2 Service WG45 ENU 2 Technical Information 86/16 Install new ventilation line with filter element. 2.1 Position filter element Replacing ventilation line -2- on the stud in the wheel housing and screw on fastening nut Replacing ventilation line -3- by only a few turns initially. 2.2 Connect ventilation line Replacing ventilation line -1- at the quick connector Replacing ventilation line -5- until the connector engages securely with an audible click. 2.3 Clip in ventilation line Replacing ventilation line -1- on the line bracket Replacing ventilation line -4- in the wheel housing. 2.4 Tighten fastening nut Replacing ventilation line -3- for the filter element. Tightening torque 5 Nm (3.5 ftlb.) Loosening tank leakage diagnosis module 1.5 Carefully pull tank leakage diagnosis module Removing tank leakage diagnosis module -1- out of the connection on the carbon canister Removing tank leakage diagnosis module -2- and remove it Removing tank leakage diagnosis module -A-. Remove sealing grommet Removing tank leakage diagnosis module -3- between the tank leakage diagnosis module and carbon canister. 2 Install new tank leakage diagnosis module. Removing tank leakage diagnosis module Information The installation sequence must always be observed in order to prevent leaks that can cause fuel vapours to leak out and result in activation of the Check Engine light. • No lubricants should be used on the sealing sleeves in order to fit the tank leakage diagnosis module on the carbon canister. • The sealing sleeves must be used again during the campaign. 2017© Porsche Cars North America, Inc.
