Model Year: As of 1999 (X) Concern: Deactivating the transport lock for the rollover protection system before delivery of the vehicle to the customer. (Activating rollover protection system). Information: The transport lock for the rollover protection system is activated at the factory for vehicle transport. Danger! There is an increased danger of injury if the vehicle rolls over with rollover protection deactivated! If rollover protection is deactivated, the warning light (item "N" on page 44 of the Owner's Manual) in the instrument panel remains lit with the engine running, and during driving. As part of the sales check, the transport lock must be deactivated in the rollover protection control unit using the Porsche System Tester 2 (PST2). Work Procedure: Deactivating the transport lock with the PST2 (as of software version 3.1): 1. Connect PST2 to the diagnostic socket; switch on the ignition. 2. Switch on the PST2 and wait until the start menu appears. 3. Select vehicle type from the start menu. 4. Start automatic control module search and wait until the search is completed. 5. Select Rollover protection in the "Control units" menu. 6. Select Transport lock in the "Function selection" menu. "Transport lock active" is displayed. 7. Change the displayed setting to "Not active" using the > key and save the setting with the "F8 key (coding). 8. Return to the start menu with the "ESC" key and switch off the PST2. 9. Disconnect PST2 from the diagnostic socket; switch off the ignition. 10. Start vehicle and check that the warning light is now extinguished.
