Service
The appropriate screw length is dependent upon the cumulative thickness of the license plate plus any decorative
frame placed over the license plate.
Recommended screw length:
• License plate without decorative frame:
M6 x 8 mm
• License plate WITH 2 mm thick decorative frame: M6 x 10 mm
Tip: Manually install the license plate screws using a handheld screwdriver. If the screw bottoms out,
remove this screw and select a shorter screw instead of applying excessive torque. Otherwise, damage may occur
to the license plate bracket screw inserts. In the event the license plate bracket screw inserts are damaged but the
openings for the inserts in the license plate bracket are not, the license plate bracket screw inserts are available as
a replacement part (WHT 003 200).
Warranty
This damage is due to outside influence and is not covered by any Audi warranty.
