• Steering feels stiff after engine start on vehicles with generation 3 steering.
• The following entries may be stored in the power steering control module, J500 (address word 44):
• DTC 16344 with fault symptom 14 (Control module - faulty)
• DTC 16353 with fault symptom 14 (Control module - faulty)
• DTC 16355 with fault symptom 14 (Control module - faulty)
• DTC 16347 with fault symptom 07 (Control module - short circuit to ground)
• DTC 16347 with fault symptom 14 (Control module - faulty)

1. Follow all instructions in TSB 2011732: 00 Software Version Management (SVM), operating instructions.
2. Update the power steering software of the power steering control module, J500 (address word 44) using the
SVM action codes as listed in the tables below, if necessary.
The tester may display a note stating that update programming must be performed on two control modules.
The updates should be installed in the order proposed by the tester.
Vehicles with software level below 2901 must first be updated to software level 2901 using the appropriate SVM
code from following table:
