The following conditions are present after the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, is replaced:
• A defective light bulb warning appears in the instrument cluster, but the side marker lights are functioning
normally.
• The following DTCs are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (address word 09):
• DTC 01494 (Bulb for left parking light-M1) with fault symptom 011 (Open circuit)
• DTC 01494 (Bulb for right parking light-M3) with fault symptom 011 (Open circuit)
Technical Background
Due to a change in the software, an additional adaptation must be performed when the vehicle electrical system
control module is replaced.

The adaptation channel value must be changed with test plan J519-Adaptation, Side marker lights (RG.97) in
ODIS.
1. Right-click Central Electrics (09-Vehicle Electrical System) (Figure 1, arrow 1).
2. Select Guided Functions from the pop-up menu (Figure 1, arrow 2).

3. Select test plan J519-Adaptation, Side marker lights (RG.97) (Figure 2), then click Perform.

4. Perform the test plan, and make sure the diagnosis for the side marker lights is deactivated (Figure 3).

5. At the end of the test plan, a successful deactivation message appears. If this message does not appear, run
the test plan again.
6. Cycle the ignition and erase the fault code entries in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519
(address word 09).
