Technical Service Bulletin 97 After J519 control module is replaced, "Defective light bulb" warning light illuminates (DTC 01494 and 01498) 97 15 45 2023283/2 February 23, 2015. Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 97 number 10-02 dated April 23, 2010 for reasons listed below. Model(s) Year VIN Range Vehicle-Specific Equipment Q7 2009 - 2011 All Not Applicable Condition REVISION HISTORY Revision Date Purpose 2 - Revised Service (Replaced VAS PC instructions with ODIS instructions) 1 4/23/2010 Initial publication The following conditions are present after the vehicle electrical system control module, J519, is replaced: • A defective light bulb warning appears in the instrument cluster, but the side marker lights are functioning normally. • The following DTCs are stored in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (address word 09): • DTC 01494 (Bulb for left parking light-M1) with fault symptom 011 (Open circuit) • DTC 01494 (Bulb for right parking light-M3) with fault symptom 011 (Open circuit) Technical Background Due to a change in the software, an additional adaptation must be performed when the vehicle electrical system control module is replaced. Technical Service Bulletin Service The adaptation channel value must be changed with test plan J519-Adaptation, Side marker lights (RG.97) in ODIS. 1. Right-click Central Electrics (09-Vehicle Electrical System) (Figure 1, arrow 1). 2. Select Guided Functions from the pop-up menu (Figure 1, arrow 2). Figure 1. Technical Service Bulletin 5. At the end of the test plan, a successful deactivation message appears. If this message does not appear, run the test plan again. 6. Cycle the ignition and erase the fault code entries in the vehicle electrical system control module, J519 (address word 09). Warranty Claim Type: Use applicable claim type.
