Figure 1. Symbol shown in driver information display. • One of the following DTCs is stored in the comfort system central control unit, J393 (address word 46): • DTC 0003: Control unit - 14 - Faulty • DTC 3279: Clutch pedal switch for engine start (F194) - 8 - Implausible signal • DTC 0185: Activation for power supply relay (terminal 15) - 7 - Short circuit to ground • DTC 3282: Terminal 50 - 6 - Short circuit to B+ • DTC 3305: Wire for engine start request - 6 - Short circuit to B+ • DTC 0526: Brake light switch - 8 - Implausible signal • DTC 0166: Access/start authorization switch (E415) - 8 - Implausible signal • DTC 0194: Ignition key removal lock - 12 - Electrical malfunction in circuit • DTC 0194: Ignition key removal catch - 7 - Short circuit to ground • DTC 0194: Ignition key removal catch - 11 - Open circuit Technical Background The “ignition lock faulty” message can be triggered by many different DTC entries. Presence of the message does not indicate that the ignition switch is faulty; the message typically has a different root cause.
