 The following DTC is stored in the engine control module (ECM), J623 (address word 01):
 DTC P304300 (Fuel pump mechanical malfunction)
Technical Background
Some pumps may draw slightly too much current, which causes the fuel pump malfunction DTC to be stored.
Production Solution
Improved pump with reduced current draw.
Service
1. Perform GFF and follow recommended GFF test plan.
2. If GFF test plan reaches no clear conclusion, replace in-tank fuel delivery unit according to the instructions
listed in Elsa under Repair Manual >> Engine >> Fuel Supply System >> Removal and Installation >> Fuel
