This is a communication that was sent to dealers, for replacement of rear sensor harness.

Please apply this procedure and supplied parts to the VIN indicated below. This procedure must be
applied prior to retail delivery of this vehicle. The labor operation code is also attached. MMNA will
issue a part return request for the harness which is removed. If you should have any problem or
questions about this procedure please call TECHLINE for support

Description

Disassemble rear fascia and
driver side quarter trim lower
per shop manual

Remove old rear sensor harness
and grommet starting at the
passenger side

Install the new rear sensor
harness and grommet into the
body behind the driver’s side
blind spot module

CAUTION – be sure to route the harness
BEHIND the blind spot warning sensor
module

Connect the new rear sensor
harness to the vehicle body
harness and apply (2) pieces of
foam and harness bands as
shown.

Route the harness as shown and
install (8) harness bands
CAUTION – see detail illustration “A”
below for routing near the blind spot
warning sensor

Make sure the new sensor
harness is routed behind the
blind spot sensor module as
shown
Fold the left hand sensor branch
back along the harness from the
point marked “turn around”
Install harness bands at the turn
around point and where the
blind spot harness is clipped to
the body.

Reassemble the components
removed
Make sure each of the (4) sensor
harness connectors are firmly
attached to their sensor
Make sure the body harness
connector for the backup lamps
is firmly connected

Function test the rear park assist
system with the key in the “ON”
position and engine “OFF” place
the vehicle transmission selector
to “R”
Using a piece of cardboard held
vertically slowly move it closer to
each sensor from @ 4’. The
tones should begin a slow beep
then faster and finally solid tone
Also confirm that the backup
lamps are on.
