Subject: Urgent – Stop Sale Code STP5 for Audi 3.0 liter V6 TDI Vehicles
This is an update to the November 3, 2015 communication where Volkswagen Group
of America, Inc. issued a stop sale order for all 2013-2016 model year Audi vehicles
equipped with a Gen II 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine. This was in response the notice received
from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board of an
investigation related to certain emissions compliance matters impacting certain 3.0 liter V6
TDI engine vehicles.
Audi continues to actively cooperate with the relevant authorities to resolve the November
2, 2015 EPA notice of violation.
On November 13, 2015, a stop sale code of STP5 will be visible in ELSA to reflect this stop
sale. The vehicles affected are:

2013 MY Audi Q7 CPO vehicles equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine.
•
2014 MY Audi A6, Audi A7, Audi A8, Audi A8L, Audi Q5, and Audi Q7 CPO vehicles
equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine.
•
2015 MY Audi A6, Audi A7, Audi A8L, Audi Q5, and Audi Q7 new and CPO vehicles
equipped with a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine.
•
2016 MY Audi A6, Audi A7, Audi A8L, and Audi Q5 new and CPO vehicles equipped
with a 3.0 liter V6 TDI engine.
We direct your attention to this language from the EPA’s press release dated November 2,
2015, “Although these vehicles have emissions exceeding standards, these violations do
not present a safety hazard for car owners and drivers and the vehicles remain legal to drive
and resell. Owners of vehicles of these models and years do not need to take any action at
this time.”
