2 Advanced Technical Information 911 (991) 1705 2171 Blue Smoke from the Exhaust Binder - Advanced Technical Information This bulletin replaces bulletin Group 2, #1705, dated 9-29-17. Vehicle Type: 911 (991), excludes 911 Turbo (991) Model Year: 2017 built before 08.17.2016 Part Number: 9A210722301 and/or 9A210722401 for supply. 9A210733301 and/or 9A210733402 for return. Issue: Blue smoke from the exhaust on engine start. Information: Debris from the production process can cause the check valves in the oil supply and return lines for the turbocharger to stick open. This allows either too much oil to enter or not enough oil to exit the turbocharger and will overwhelm the seal. Action required: DO NOT replace the turbocharger(s). Remove the pressure pipes from the turbochargers to determine which side is stuck open. Replace that line.
