This is new and updated Vehicle Diagnostic Adapter reference chart. This chart will be updated when
there is change in compatibility of any of the listed adapters.
Note:
You can still access old version of this chart by either clicking here or scrolling to the bottom of this article.
However, please understand that majority of adapters listed in that chart either became obsolete or are not
supported anymore.

Caterpillar
End of Life- The IC4 USB and Com cables are no longer supported. These interface cables may
work with many of these applications. Navistar will not be testing the cable with any applications
and will not support the cable or issues related to the cable. Use at your own risk
Global ( K- Line) most MWM engines will require the Global Kit or conversion using the
instructions below.
When running the Caterpillar software with cables other than the CAT adapter; the
communications will need to be set to RP1210 Compliant device. This can be done by selecting

utilities then preferences, Then select "RP1210 Compliant device" from the communications pull
down and select the advanced setting then the correct cable from the list.
NOTE: 2007 Caterpillar engines only work CAT Cable and DPA4
Non Cummins adapters need to be set up as RP1210A compliant adapters for the cable selection
menu before use.
NOTE: 2007 Engines will only work with the in line, DPA 4 and IC4 cables.
MD 4.8 will allow the NAVCoM and NAVLink to communicate with a vehicle by following the steps
below.

Launch MD 4.8 Go to File >> MD Settings >> COM Device, and select COM Device
Select Movimento
Select Movimento NAVCoM/ NavLink, USB0
Go to COM >> Open, and select Open
Go to COM >> Sniffer, and select Sniffer
Diamond Logic Builder (DLB) Non J1937 adapters will not work with the IC3 cable you should have driver version 1.9 or greater
Wabco Tool Box
The Eaton RF adapter will not work reliably
