Decommissioning the Truck for Repair
You must read and understand the precautions and guidelines in Service Information,
group 80, "General Safety Practices, Body, Cab & Interior" before performing this
procedure. If you are not properly trained and certified in this procedure, ask your
supervisor for training before you perform it.

1 Park the vehicle on a flat and level surface.
2 Apply the parking brake.
3 Place the transmission in neutral or park.
4 Install the wheel chocks on the front wheels.

5 Disconnect the cable from the battery’s negative terminal.

2 Locate and identify the PTO1and PTO2 connectors.

3 Using an appropriate terminal removal tool, remove the wire from cavity 2 on the PTO 2
connector.

4 Reinstall the same wire into cavity 11 on the PTO 2 connector.

5 Remove the wire from cavity 2 on the PTO 1 connector.

6 Cut the terminal off the removed wire, and strip the end of the wire for crimping.

7 Using the butt splice on the service jumper wire, crimp the loose wire into the service
jumper.

8 Insert the double terminated wire terminal into cavity 2 of the PTO 1 connector.
