Field Service Bulletin Trucks Volvo Trucks North America Greensboro, NC USA Date This Field Service Bulletin replaces bulletin, “ Tandem Fuel Pump Leakage”, PV729–FSB233-004_V (USA50507) dated (10/2011). 2.2014 Group No. Release 233 004 03 Page 1(2) Tandem Fuel Pump Leakage VN, VHD, VT, VAH FSB 233-004, Tandem Fuel Pump Leakage (February 2014) The technical material analysis center (TMAC) claim analysis on returned fuel pumps has shown a number of fuel pumps returned due to a fuel leak that shows no defect in testing. The D11, D13, and D16 fuel pump is mounted on the back of the power steering pump as a tandem pump assembly. The shaft seal for the fuel pump and the shaft seal for the power steering pump, along with the weep hole are all contained within the power steering pump housing. Replacement of the fuel pump due to a fluid leak at the weep hole will not correct a weep hole leakage complaint. Refer to the cross sectional diagram in this document for additional information and views of the seal location.
