No.: 15 TS-17 September 2, 2015 TO: Service Locations FROM: Service Engineering SUBJECT: GHG14 DD Platform Engines With Code SPN: 3216 FMI: 18, SCR Inlet NOx Sensor Drift Low ISSUE Some GHG14 DD Platform engines are experiencing this fault code. The DD13 and DD15TC engines have higher occurrence rates of this fault code. This fault code is only logged during driving conditions. CAUSE In some cases, there is an actual mechanical issue with the engine or sensor that causes the code. In other cases, no problem is found with the engine or sensor, and this is being investigated further by Detroit. REQUIRED ACTION Follow the published troubleshooting for the applicable code in Power Service Literature in the EPA07/10/GHG14 DDEC VI/10 Electronics and Troubleshooting Manual (DDC-SVC-MAN0084). Do not replace any NOx sensors unless the troubleshooting shows an actual failure with it. This is extremely rare. For cases where there is no problem found, contact the Customer Support Center (CSC) for additional MCM programming assistance for temporary help with this code. CLAIM PROCESS Normal in-warranty procedures apply. If a mechanical failure is found in warranty, file the claim against the appropriate failed part.
