Tech Tips Date: March 18, 2011 TT 87-11-01 2011-2016 Jetta, 2012-2016 Beetle-A/C Control Module Basic Settings October 14, 2016: Update to Information. After A/C control module J301 is replaced, fault 00898-005 “Activation A/C Compressor No or Incorrect Basic Settings” may be stored. GFF test plan does not perform Activation A/C Compressor Basic Setting. To perform basic setting and resolve this fault, follow steps below: 2011- 2015 Vehicles follow the below procedure: Set the blower on position 1 or 2 Set Airflow direction to “vent” Set Temperature to “full cold” Start the engine Press and hold the defrost and a/c buttons at the same time Hold the buttons for 5-7 seconds until the defrost, A/C, and recirc buttons are illuminated Restart the vehicle and recheck all functions before returning the vehicle to the customer 2016 Vehicles follow the below procedure: Using ODIS go to 08 - Air Conditioning under control modules. Select the test plan tab and perform control module adaptation under Heating, ventilation, air conditioning>01 - Self-diagnosis > 08 A/C/heating electronics (A/C – manual)> 08 Functions> 08 Adaptation.
