Subject: 2.0L TDI Update
Dear Dealer Partners,
Today was the final fairness hearing for the 2.0L TDI settlement agreement with private plaintiffs before Judge
Charles R. Breyer of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. At the hearing, Judge
Breyer heard arguments from Volkswagen and the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee in support of the settlement and
allowed several individual plaintiffs to voice their opposition.
The judge said today he was ``strongly inclined’’ to approve the settlement and would make a decision by Oct. 25. I
will update you as soon as we have news.
As we wait for the court to issue its ruling on the 2.0L TDI settlement agreement, we continue to work closely with
the EPA and CARB on an approved emissions modification for affected 2.0L TDI engine vehicles. We are also
working to secure approval of a technical resolution for affected vehicles with 3.0L V6 TDI engines as quickly as
possible. The next 3.0L status update with the court is scheduled for November 3rd.
In the meantime, if you have any questions about the settlement process, please do not hesitate to contact the
dedicated Settlement Dealer Support Team, at 1-844-DLR-SPRT.
I want to thank you again for your continued patience and cooperation as we work to make things right. Your
support and representation of our brand has been exemplary, and I am deeply grateful for your efforts.
Sincerely,
Scott Keogh
