Status of Resolution of DETROIT® Diesel GHG17 Engine Software Updates MCI and DETROIT® have been taking steps to correct fault codes reported by the DETROIT® DD13 Engine Motor Control Module (MCM) and Aftertreatment Control Module (ACM) resulting in Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), Check Engine Lamp (CEL), and eventual engine de-rates. We are pleased to report that a final ACM software update has been created, targeting 100% effectiveness. This ACM software update will be deployed for testing and validation from early January to the end of March 2018. Upon successful validation, the process of updating all engines should begin in May 2018. During this period, you should continue to expect your coaches to operate normally with no further issues related to MCM and ACM fault codes and engine derates. MCI and DETROIT® will update progress on this testing and validation at the end of the March 2018 or sooner if any issues occur. Details of the process to update software on your coaches will be provided to you in early May 2018. Thanks you for your patience. If you have any questions regarding the information contained in this letter please contact us.
