Condition
Customer may report that:
 The reversing camera does not work, or the image flickers.
 DTC B125C13 (Video Cable Interruption) is stored in the rearview camera system control module J772
(address word 006C).
Technical Background
Deviations in the coaxial cable between rearview camera system control module and infotainment control module.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
1. Validate the customer concern by:
 Check for a DTC in the rearview camera system control module J772 (address word 006C). DTC
B125C13 (Video Cable Interruption) should be the only DTC found.
 The concern can be reproduced by wiggling the green Fakra connection on the rearview camera system
control module J772 (address word 006C).
 If the customer’s concern cannot be validated by the steps above, then continue diagnosis outside of this
TSB.

publisher.
2. After the concern has been duplicated, and isolated to the Fakra connector at the rearview camera system
control module J772 (address word 006C). A replacement of the green 90° Fakra connector must be made:
 Aerial plug adapter 000098710A will need to be installed (Figure 1A, Image E).
 A female coax terminal will need to be installed on the vehicle harness (Figure 1B, Image D).
Figure 1. Image A: original reverse camera image wiring configuration. Image B: modified reverse camera wiring
configuration. Modified wiring configuration replaces original green Fakra connector (C) by installing aerial plug
adapter 000098710A (E). Original harness is modified with the installation of a new female Fakra connector (D).
3. Gain access to the rearview camera system control module J772 (address word 006C) in the right rear trunk by
removing the luggage compartment side trim. Consult the repair manual for instructions.
4. Gain access to the coaxial wire:
 Remove the fleece tape along the body harness (Figure 2, Image A). Be sure to utilize lacing tape cutters, or
similar tooling when removing the fleece tape to help ensure that there is no damage to the wiring harness.
 The harness body retainer clip (Figure 2, Image B) should remain in place to ensure proper harness length
during the repair.

removing the fleece tape to help ensure that there is no damage to the wire harness. The harness body retainer clip
(B) should remain in place to ensure proper harness length during the repair.
5. With the wiring exposed, locate the coaxial wire that is attached to the green Fakra connector. Pull down on the
coaxial wire attached to the green Fakra connector (Figure 3, Image A), this will apply tension to the upper
section of the coaxial wire (Figure 3, Image B), making it easier to identify. Mark this wire for later use, and pull
the wire back into place.

6. Install the aerial plug adapter
000098710A into the vehicle harness:
 Attach the 90 degree end of aerial
plug adapter 000098710A onto the
reversing camera control unit J772,
replacing the original green Fakra
connector and route along the
existing body harness (Figure 4,
Image A).
 Secure the aerial plug adapter to
the original body harness with a
small piece of wrapping tape
(Figure 4, Image B).
 Mark a cut line reference onto the
coaxial wire identified in Step 4.
 The cut line reference can be
marked utilizing tape or permanent
marker. The cut line reference
should match up with aerial plug
adapter’s lower connecting point
(red dashed line - Figure 4, Image
C).
 Confirm that all mounting clips of
the body harness are properly
secured to the vehicle when
marking the cut line to ensure
proper harness length.

000098710A onto the reversing camera control unit J772, replacing the
original green Fakra connector, route the aerial plug adapter along the
existing body harness, as shown by the dashed yellow line (Image
A). Mark a cut line reference onto the coaxial wire that was identified in
step 4. The cut line reference should match up with the aerial plug
adapter’s lower connecting point (C).

7. Using the VAS6720 Antenna (Aerial)
Cable Repair Set, modify the vehicle
side of the coaxial harness by
installing the new female Fakra
connection and attach it to the antenna
adapter cable (Figure 5):
 Cut the coaxial cable at the cut line
reference from Step 5.
 Install the new female Fakra
connection on the vehicle side of
the harness.
Figure 5. Modified body harness with new female Fakra connector
installed, connected to antenna adapter cable.
8. Re-wrap the harness with the newly
installed antenna adapter cable. Wrap
the harness using fleece adhesive
tape, part number D373125A2.
9.
Reinstall the luggage compartment side trim.
10. Clear all DTC’s and perform a function check of the reverse camera system.
