DESCRIPTION:
This ATC is being issued to address incorrect AC compressor drive belt tension on certain ISL 2013 and ISL Gas Plus
2007 engines installed in Gillig Bus applications. This ATC authorizes the checking and adjustment of the belt tension
to the new specification as indicated in the instructions below.
ACTION:
In order to qualify for repair under this field action, an engine:
1 will be covered Regardless of coverage status, and
2 must show as OPEN on QuickServe® Online for this field action.
NOTE: The ESN list is attached for reference.
After verifying that the engine meets the above requirements, perform the following actions:
1) Check and, if needed, set AC Compressor Belt tension as follows:
Specification :
1468-1600 N (330-360 lbs.) for a used belt
2000-2135 N (450-480 lbs.) when installing a new belt.
NOTE: A belt is considered used if it has been in service for ten minutes or longer.
