Customer statement:
 The trunk lid has opened itself unintentionally.
Workshop findings:
 No DTC(s) are logged.
Technical Background
The vehicle reacts to a signal from the remote key which was unintentionally sent by the customer.
Production Solution
Not applicable.
Service
To minimize the risk of an unintentional opening of the trunk lid with the remote control the response time for the
rear lid button of the remote control can be increased.

In Guided Functions of the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 0046) the adjustment
channel 64 "operating time of rear lid remote control" can be changed to a longer time, 5 seconds being the
longest.
If necessary, the last 5 events of the central locking, can be read in the comfort system central control module,
J393 (address word 0046) from the measured value blocks 50 – 59. The date and time are listed. This can help
explain to the customer what occurred.
A4 (8W), A5 (F5), Q5 (FY), and Q7 (4M):
In the Guided Functions of the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 0046) the value for the
adaptation "Operating time for opening rear lid with remote control" can be changed, 4 seconds being the longest.
From software 0344 of the comfort system central control module, J393 (address word 0046). If necessary, the
last 20 events of the central locking for locking, can be read in the comfort system central control module, J393
(address word 0046). To do this read the measured value "history data of central locking - lock".
Explain this situation to the customer.
