3.0L TDI Gen 2 Emissions Compliant Repair (ECR) Approval
Dear Dealer Partners,
Audi is pleased to announce that we have received approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
(EPA) and California Air Resources Board (CARB) for an Emissions Compliant Repair (ECR) for Generation 2
PC (Passenger Car) affected 3.0L TDI vehicles in connection with our settlement program.
The following 3.0L TDI engine Audi vehicles fall into the category of Generation 2 PC:
Model Years 2014-2016:
o
o
Audi A6 3.0-liter TDI
Audi A8 3.0-liter TDI
o
o
Audi A7 3.0-liter TDI
Audi Q5 3.0-liter TDI
This modification has only been approved for customers in possession of their vehicle. Under separate
notification, you can expect to receive a Technical Bulletin and additional training information regarding the
ECR very soon.
This approval does not apply to new unsold vehicles in your inventory. Model Year 2014-2016 Audi A6,
A7, A8 & Q5 TDI vehicles in your inventory (both new and CPO) remain unavailable for sale until EPA
and CARB approve a resale plan. A separate communication will be distributed once these approvals are
received.

Beginning next week, Audi will notify eligible customers of the ECR approval and their options. Please note this
letter will inform customers that they can receive the ECR at authorized Audi dealerships free of charge with
dealer appointments available as soon as Tuesday, January 2, 2018. Enclosed with the customer
communication will be an informational booklet containing detailed information about the approved ECR,
including the software and hardware updates, the impacts to the vehicle and its emissions, changes in the
maintenance schedule, as well as information about the Approved Emissions Extended Warranty.
A copy of the cover letter and booklets being sent to customers can be referenced by clicking the following

Upon completion of the ECR, eligible owners or lessees that have already filed a claim and accepted their offer
will be able to receive their full repair payment, or any portion remaining if they already received a repair
participation payment.
If a customer is currently not participating in the settlement program, they may file a claim to receive a
restitution payment and make their election prior to the modification being performed. Customers who do not
choose to participate in the settlement program do not need to file a claim before the modification is performed.
As always, please direct customers to VWCourtSettlement.com for more information.
We thank you for your continued efforts as we move forward with another key accomplishment in the 3.0L
Settlement.
Best regards,
