36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s in-service date.

Repair Procedure (Continued)
2. Confirm the condition exists.
Is a knocking noise coming from the vacuum pump with the engine idling?
Refer to the audio link below for an example of the knocking noise condition:

 YES — Continue to step 3.

NO — This bulletin does NOT apply. Continue diagnosis using the applicable
Repair Manual.
3. Remove the vacuum pump assembly.
Refer to the Technical Information System (TIS), applicable model and model year
Repair Manual:

2016 – 2017 Tacoma:
Brake – Brake System – “Brake System (Other): Vacuum Pump: Removal”

2017 Highlander:
Brake – Brake System – “Brake System (Other): Vacuum Pump: Removal”

2017 Sienna:

4. Install a NEW vacuum pump assembly.
