File in Section: Bulletin No.: Service Bulletin Date: 16-NA-359 November, 2016 TECHNICAL Subject: Malfunction Indicator Lamp Illuminated at Very Low Mileage, DTC P05CE Set Brand: Model: Buick Enclave Chevrolet Traverse GMC Acadia Limited (VIN R/V) Model Year: Vehicle Build Date: from to from prior to 2017 2017 SOP September 14, 2016 Engine: Transmission: LLT, LFX Involved Region or Country North America and all N.A. Export Regions Condition Some customers may comment that the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) is illuminated. The Technician may find DTC P05CE set as Stored or History. Cause This condition may be caused by the cam phaser control and diagnostic calibrations inadvertently causing a P05CE diagnostic code to set. Correction Service Procedure Important: Verify the battery voltage is more than 12.6 volts but less than 15.5 volts before proceeding with reprogramming. The battery must be fully charged BEFORE reprogramming. An updated software calibration has been released to address this condition. Update the engine control module (ECM) to the latest software and calibration available on TIS2WEB. Refer to Engine Control Module Reprogramming with SPS in SI. Important: During reprogramming, the battery voltage must be maintained within the proper range of 12.6-15.5 volts.
