Complaint:
Creaking noise from the area of the cross member of the seat height adjuster at throttle lift-off and on rough roads.
Affects fully electric seat adjusters.
Cause:
Positioning or detachment of the felt on the transverse pipe (door side).
Remedy:
Remark: Do not remove the seat.
1. Check whether the vehicle has the special equipment "Fire extinguisher" (code 682).
If it does, remove the fire extinguisher holder.
Otherwise proceed as follows:
2. Move seat all the way back and set cushion angle to the highest position (Picture 1).
3. Detach the two cushion frame brackets at the front (Picture 2).
4. Carefully open clip fastening of exposed plastic clips using a suitable tool (Picture 3).
5. Push assembly wedge between transverse pipe and cushion frame to act as a spacer (Picture 4).
6. Remove existing felt on transverse pipe and completely remove any adhesive residues using a suitable solvent
(Picture 5).
7. Lightly coat lug on sliding block with antifriction agent (A000 989 36 60, also included in the Noise Damping Service
Kit).
8. Insert sliding block with fastening pin into plastic braker (Picture 6, 7, 8).
9. Remove assembly wedge.
10. Install in reverse order. (Position cushion frame over plastic clips on transverse pipe, clip the plastic clips together,
insert cushion frame brackets at the front and bolt down)
11. Perform function test
