Noises from the area of the rear-end door
Cause:

The adjustment of the rear-end door has changed due to settling effects
The interior trim of the rear-end door becoming loose
Improper torque of bolted connections of the spare wheel holder
AMG: Door stop wedge missing (up to VIN 223493)
Remedy:
Correct door adjustment and retighten bolted connections.
The complaints are inherent in the design because of the high dead weight of the rear-end door, the rear-end door
trim and the spare wheel holder with spare wheel.
As of VIN 223493 the AMG models also have a door stop wedge on the rear-end door. This can be retrofitted using
the parts listed below.
