Update Powertrain Control Module, Engine and Transmission Software
Daimler AG (DAG), the manufacturer of Mercedes-Benz vehicles, has determined that the software in the
Powertrain control module, Engine and Transmission Control Modules may not meet current production
configuration. To correct this condition an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer will update the Powertrain
control module, Engine and Transmission Control Module software at the next dealer visit.
Prior to performing this Service Campaign:

Please check VMI to determine if the vehicle is involved in the Campaign and if it has been previously
repaired.

Please review the entire Service Campaign bulletin and follow the repair procedure exactly as
described.
Approximately 512 vehicles are affected.

This bulletin has been created and maintained in accordance with MBUSA-SLP S423QH001, Document and Data
Control, and MBUSA-SLP S424HH001, Control of Quality Records.

Procedure
Note:

Use DAS/Xentry 05-06/2015 with add-on 4522 or higher.

Follow the steps exactly as described in DAS/Xentry.

Connect battery charger (battery voltage

control unit) / Control unit adaptations / Control unit programming

The software update for the engine and transmission control module starts automatically afterwards.
Otherwise the following menu items are to be selected:

Quick test view / ME motor electronics "MED1775" for combustion engine "M178" / Control unit
adaptations / Control unit programming.

Quick test view / DKG (electronic transmission control for dual clutch transmission N15/13) / Control unit
adaptations / Control unit programming.
