SUBJECT:
Front And/Or Rear Emblems Bubbling And/Or Fading
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the rear FIAT emblem and inspecting and if necessary
replacing the front FIAT emblem.

NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built before January 25, 2013 (MDH0125XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Front And/Or Rear Emblems Bubbling And/Or Fading
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer’s VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other
customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect the front fascia and emblem as shown in (Fig. 1). Were there bubbles and/or
fading on the emblem?
a. Yes>>> Proceed to step Step #2.
b. No>>> Remove and discard rear liftgate emblem using a trim stick and proceed to
Step #3.

2. Remove the front fascia and liftgate emblem using trim stick and discard.
3. Remove adhesive residue from front fascia and/or liftgate where the emblem(s) have
been removed with 3M 08984 general purpose adhesive cleaner or equivalent in
conjunction with a lint free towel.
4. Clean the surface area where the emblem will be installed with isopropyl alcohol and a
lint free towel.
5. Remove the adhesive liner from the new emblem(s) and install the emblem(s).
NOTE: Apply firm pressure to the emblem to ensure the adhesive is properly wetted
out.
6. Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
POLICY:
Reimbursable within the provisions of the warranty.
