Bulletin No.: PI1410B Date: May-2017 Subject: Normal Characteristic - Instrument Panel Red Brake Light Intermittently Comes On Models: 2013-2018 All GM Passenger Cars and Trucks Equipped with Electronic Park Brake (EPB) and RPO UGN Attention: This PI also applies to any of the above models that may be Export from North America vehicles. This PI has been revised to add all vehicles equipped with EPB and RPO UGN. Please discard PI1410A. Condition/Concern Some customers may comment that the red park brake light on the instrument panel intermittently comes on. This may be due to the vehicle automatically applying the electronic parking brake (EPB) when the vehicle is not moving. Recommendation/Instructions This is normal and is done periodically (every 50 key cycles) to check the correct operation of the EPB system. Customer Information Please communicate to the customer this condition is a normal operating characteristic of their vehicle. It will not impact the designed performance or reliability of the vehicle. Please share this information with the customer, including a copy of this message.
