NOTE 1: Submit Claim on Campaign Claim Entry Screen
NOTE 2: If a part is found in need of replacement while performing Service Campaign 952 and the
affected part is still under warranty, submit a separate claim using the same Repair Order Number and
the same Causal Part Number as the Campaign Claim. If the affected part is out of warranty, submit a
Prior Approval Request for goodwill consideration prior to performing the work.
NOTE 3: Labor operation 70C122R1 reimburses for under coating in sublet.

! CAUTION
Wear protective goggles and respiratory protection when performing the procedures in this bulletin.
The vehicle should be in a well ventilated area.
FUEL TANK BAND REPLACEMENT :
1.
Lift up the vehicle on a hoist. Loosen
and remove the fuel tank cover
mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque:
17.7 ~ 24.5 Nm (1.8 ~ 2.5 kgf.m, 13.0 ~
18.1 lb-ft)

Slide the fuel tank cover (B) rearward
and rest it on the drive shaft or exhaust.

Support the fuel tank using a tall jack
stand (C).

Starting with the band on the Right
Hand Side [RHS] of the vehicle loosen
and remove the front fuel tank mounting
bolt (D).
Note: Penetrating Oil may be used to
assist with removal of seized mounting
bolts.

Loosen and remove the right rear fuel
tank mounting bolt (E).

Remove the old fuel tank band (F).
Spray Under Coating on the fuel tank
area where the old band was removed.

Install the new fuel tank band (G).

8.
Install and tighten the front and rear
mounting bolts (H) (I).
Tightening torque:
36.2 ~ 47 lb-ft (49 ~ 63.7 Nm).

9.
Replace the Left Hand Side [LHS] fuel
tank band using steps 4 – 8 under the
Fuel Tank Band Replacement
Procedure.
10.
Reinstall the removed parts in reverse
order of removal.
