GENERAL MANAGER q PARTS MANAGER q q SERVICE BULLETIN APPLICABILITY: SUBJECT: 2017MY Legacy and Outback 2.5i Premium Models with EyeSight NUMBER: 07-121-17 DATE: 12/19/17 DTC B2902 INTRODUCTION: This bulletin provides a repair procedure to address DTC B2902 which may be stored erroneously due to a specification mismatch. This bulletin applies to a very limited number of early-production 2017 model year vehicles without the auto headlamp leveling (AHL) feature only. Having the incorrect control module installed has absolutely NO effect on normal headlamp system operation and does not cause any warning lamp(s) to illuminate. The repair involves replacing the headlamp control module. PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION: Correct specification headlamp control modules were incorporated into production starting with the following VINs: • Legacy: H*008137 • Outback: H*215987 PART INFORMATION: The part number for the correct specification headlamp control module is 84051AL080. SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION: If DTC B2902 is stored in the Headlight Control System, confirm using the VIN and the Subaru Electronic Parts Catalog whether or not the vehicle should be equipped with the Headlamp Leveler sensor. If the vehicle is not equipped with the Headlamp Leveler Sensor, install the new (84051AL080) module. If equipped with the sensor, diagnose the DTC as per the applicable Service Manual. Continued...
