The technician may find DTC U0101 set. Information Be sure to review the appropriate SI diagnostics for DTC U0101. If calling TAC for assistance, have all codes in the vehicle and which modules they are set in ready when calling. Prior to any parts replaced, there are several areas that should be inspected: ⇒ Check underhood fuse block for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit and mis-postioned fuses in the fuse block. ⇒ Inspect the TEHCM grounds - refer to SI Automatic Transmission Controls Schematics to determine the ground identification (G106, G107, etc.) then the master electrical component list to determine the location of the ground. ⇒ Powers and grounds should always be load checked to make sure the circuits are able to work properly. ⇒ Check the harness for rubbing through on any sharp objects mainly on top of the transmission where harness can contact sharp area on the block. ⇒ Inspection of the transmission connector pins for damaged terminals or poor terminal fit. After inspection is complete, reconnect using dielectric grease. Parts Information No parts are required for this repair. Version 2 Modified September 05, 2017 - Added Trax, G6 and Aura Models and updated Models to 2018. GM bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, NOT a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform these technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions, and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, DO NOT assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See your GM dealer for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information. WE SUPPORT VOLUNTARY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATION 2
