Brand: Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GMC Model: GM Passenger Cars and Trucks Model Year: VIN: from to 2018 2018 Involved Region or Country from Engine: Transmission: to North America and N.A.Export Regions On all 2018 model year vehicles, the Service Parts Identification (SPID) label will be discontinued and much of the information formerly contained in the SPID will now be a QR code on the Certification Label. The change will be phased in over the next several months. If the Certification Label does not have a QR code, the SPID label can be found in its usual location. A QR code is a type of two-dimensional barcode. The Certification Label is adhered to the driver side B pillar. 4829926 Copyright 2017 General Motors LLC. All Rights Reserved. Page 2 August, 2017 Software to read QR codes is commonly available for Android, iPhone and Windows Smartphones. Many applications are free of charge or for a nominal fee will provide extra features. A number of free applications have tested successfully to read the QR code. Suggestions for easy to use readers include: NeoReader by NM LLC, i-nigma by 3GVision, QR Scanner by Honestly App, QR Droid by DroidLa and Bar-Code by PW2. The scanner software has a selection to email the QR data if a copy needs to be retained for records. This scanner works with a USB cable or connected via Bluetooth to a laptop. Once the QR code is scanned, the information will appear in this order on your smartphone or laptop: VIN, Model Year, Model, Build Month, Year, Engineering Book, Vehicle Order Number, 3 Digit RPO Codes sorted alphanumerically and the Paint Code (same code appears the lower left of the QR code) Note: Commas indicate separation of information however RPOs do not have comma separation.
